INTERNET: EDUCATIONAL MEDIA OR PORNOGRAPHY?

The last few weeks, on television, we often encounter ad one telecom company in this country, that is advertising on the internet go to school socialization program, school or at a time when seeing kedesa-rural background of the ad. The purpose of the advertisements were extremely positive. The author notes there are two important things to be the goal of the ad, first, want to socialize there are Internet programs that have to go to school-the school, including the existing schools in the countryside, and, second, is the most important goal and the main, by the existence of internet facilities in schools , is expected to not only be a means of access to information all over the world, but also as a medium of learning and add insights and the development of science for students, as well as to eliminate the impression gaptek (stuttering technology) community. For the latter purpose, in fact we are already far behind the western countries, such as the United States. In the era of President Bill Clinton, his administration rewarded the internet connection to 2000s high school in California. This policy is intended to allow residents of the United States during those years has had at least electronic mail facilities. At this time the United States has sought to free its citizens from blindness to the internet, but Indonesia up to now still on the policy of eradication of illiteracy and a new start on the introduction of the internet. But not too late, because the shame is not ignorance, but an unwillingness to learn.

Have Socialization?
The existence of the Internet for school-school programs are very good, but the question is, whether before the internet goes to school-school had no socialization of teachers and students how to use, benefits and negative impacts and how to avoid it? whether the Internet has been accompanied by an adequate filter device? whether the existing system of supervision on the use of the internet? whether there was a special staff that has expertise in information technology which will manage the Internet lab and guiding the students? If these questions the answer is not, then the Internet for school-school program this result will not be maximal, could even lead to new social problems. One is the Internet as a medium for students to consume pornography. Although not always diinternet school, but he knew from the beginning of the school internet, then going outside to look, for example, which of course is free internet cafe or at home alone where parental supervision is very weak. Research results and Fruit We Heart Foundation during 2005 to 1705 4-6 grade elementary school children in 134 elementary schools in Greater Jakarta, it is known that the media used in identifying children's pornography, 20% are from internet sites. While based on Femina Magazine survey in Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang and Bogor to the 1821 respondents, with 50% more respondents have children under the age of 10 years, it is known that 80% of parents who keep a computer in a child's room or did not yet install software that filterscharged pornography sites on the Internet.

Easily Access to Pornography & Child negative effect

The lack of socialization of how to use, how to avoid negative impacts and the lack of filter devices, resulting in internet pornography (cyberporn) more easily found by students of the school.

Here are some factors that cause children to access pornography, both school and home through the Internet itself, namely: first, lack of supervision, education and training of teachers / parents to their students / children about how a healthy Internet usage, the benefits of the internet and the impact negative as well as how to avoid it, secondly, the attitude of the closure of the teachers / parents to the students / children about sex education, the consequences are so great curiosity sought answers outside of school / home, like in the cafe; third, teachers / parents who stutter technology (clueless), thus meeting the needs of the Internet at school or for children in the house / room, but the teacher / parents themselves do not master it, not even knowing the negative impact of the Internet; fourth, the lack of protection efforts by teachers / parents who have internet at school / in home or in the nursery, which is not complete with software to block porn sites; fifth, the orientation of the financial benefits the owners of cafes, so that anyone can hire the internet, including children or adolescents, even in school hours. Besides indoor spaces available diwarnet makes children feel comfortable and safe to open porn sites; sixth, cheapening the cost to be able to consume even have photographs or video porn by downloading it from a porn site and save them on floppy disks, CD or flasdisc; and seventh, an attitude of openness of society, including parents who little by little not consider taboo things that are pornographic. As a result of social control to be reduced to pornography.

In addition, the large number of pornographic sites that daily grows and the site search engines such as Google diinternet, increasingly easier to access cyberporn.

American Demographics Magazine in its report stated that the number of pornographic websites has increased from 22,100 in 1997 to 280,300 in 2000 soared 10 times or more within three years. When averaged, means that every day up 200's more new porn site and you can imagine how much this time. While Nathan Tabor, in his article entitled Adultary is Killing the American Family said that statistics show that 25% of all internet search engine asked to be connected with pornography.

The more often students / children consume pornographic material, of course dakan negative impact on mental development and keperibadiannya. According to Ike R Sugianto, a psychologist, says that the psychological effects of child pornography from the Internet is triggering the development of their sexual disorders. Child pornography who knew early on will tend to become antisocial, unfaithful, domestic violence, insensitive, trigger sexual disorders, and addictive access the Internet, especially on gaming sites and porn.

Weaknesses Law

Pornography ban has actually been arranged in our positive law, such as the Criminal Code, Law No. 8 / 1992 on Film, Law No. 36/1999 on Telecommunications, Law No. 40/1999 on the Press and Law No. 32/2002 on Broadcasting. But at the application stage, some of this Act can not work with the maximum because it contains several weaknesses and shortcomings in its substance, namely the formulation of violating decency abstract / multiple interpretations, which are territorial jurisdiction and the formulation of some of the terms and understanding that does not include pornography diinternet activity, system formulation of criminal sanctions are not appropriate and the number of criminal sanctions are relatively small fines, the formulation system of corporate criminal liability / legal entities which are vague and not detailed, and the lack of harmonization of crime and crime policy formulation, both at the national, regional and international . The existence of these weaknesses indicate the need for the amendment even legal reform, so the law can reach out to criminals in cyberspace.
Efforts to incorporate Internet for school-school program, even throughout the community that there dipelosok and crannies of this country is a very good and needs improvement. But the increase is certainly not limited to quantity alone, as many as possible to give internet access, but also must be accompanied by an increase in the quality of the students / community that will become a user or users of the internet. So the internet can be a healthy media technology to obtain information, broaden and develop the science, rather than a media that will cause new social problems that negatively impact area for children and require no little time, effort, thought and the cost to fix it future. ***
